Columbia Business School appoints The Triana Group’s healthcare technologies division founder and head, Lorraine Marchand, associate director and senior advisor of its Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Management Program New York.

The Triana Group is pleased to announce that Lorraine Marchand, founder and head of its healthcare technologies division, has been appointed associate director and advisor to the Columbia Business School Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Management Program which serves the needs of the international business community including global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, technology and healthcare services companies. This is the second appointment for Lorraine Marchand, who recently joined the leadership team for drug discovery and development company, Anosos Biotherapeutics, as Chief Business Officer.

A successful spin-out of the University of Pennsylvania, it has already licensed one of its compounds to a pharma company; phase 2 studies will be completed this summer. “These endeavors have bright futures, and can be strongly synergistic with some of Triana’s current and upcoming client companies and ventures,” said Marchand, who continues to lead Triana’s healthcare technology group. “We are honored to see Triana’s top leadership team continuously recognized by worldclass organizations and teams,” said Jabril Bensedrine, Triana Founder and Managing Partner. About Lorraine Marchand: Prior to joining Triana, Lorraine Marchand was founding CEO of Ocular Proteomics, a diagnostics company; COO of contract research organization Clinilabs in New York, and VP, Covance, Princeton. Earlier, she was Executive Director, Business Planning and Operations and founder of Study Strategy and Planning, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Princeton. She joined BMS after four years as SVP, Healthcare Marketing and Managing Director, at the public relations firm Porter Novelli – Omnicom, in Washington, DC. She started her executive career as founding Director of the National Diabetes Education Program of the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. Lorraine holds an MBA from Columbia University and an MBA from the London Business School. She also holds Operational Excellence and Six Sigma Certification. She is a member of the advisory board of the Science Center in Philadelphia and business advisor to RapidTrials, Oran Diagnostics, ZSX Medical, Biovista and Res Partners. Lorraine is a Board member of the Tech Council of Maryland and a member of New Jersey Technology Council, PA Bio, the Health Care Business Women’s Association and the Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs. Her P&L supervision experience ranges from $17 million to $275 million, with teams of up to 600 employees, and her business development track record includes driving revenue growth of up to $120 million for a drug development unit through pharmaceutical and biotechnology partnerships within less than a year.
